This is the first part of a new performance project for the more advanced level  students. On Sunday, March 4 students will learn a full choreography using classic "bellydance" stylization (most likely Egyptian cabaret). The choreography will be challenging and will incorporate complex layers and isolation technique. For the following 3 Sundays students will work on memorizing and solidifying this choreography, breaking down any particularly challenging segments to clarify for independent practise. Students will be provided with a video recording of the choreography on the final class. Students wishing to perform the choreography with us at the Brixton Hafla and other venues will use the month of April to work on the piece independently. Final rehearsals for the Brixton Hafla will run every Sunday from May 6 - June 17. To participate in the final rehearsals students must have the choreography memorized and be prepared by May 6. This will allow us to really dive into the piece and work intensively on staging and interpretation during the rehearsals.

    Advanced Dancer Rehearsal Classes

    • £49/7 classes, £42/6 classes

    • SWC, Unit 11, 49 Effra Rd, SW2 1BZ
This is the final part of a new performance project for the more advanced level  students which began in March. These rehearsals are open to students who have fully memorized the advanced level choreography from the March 4 workshop. **If you are unable to attend the March workshop but would like to do the rehearsals and performance, you can contact Anna about learning the piece independently**. The rehearsals will focus on staging, interpretation and performance of the piece and will not include work on the actual choreography sequence- students must have it memorized and prepared before attending these rehearsals.  Students who come attend are invited to perform with the group at the Brixton Summer Hafla and other events such as the Silke Route and the Lambeth Country Show.
