Anna Kemper began her studies of Arabic dance in 1993 in Seattle, USA, recieved a B.A. in Dance and Film Production from Bard College, New York in 2001 and has since then become a widely acclaimed, full-time bellydance instructor.

She began teaching bellydance in 1997 and over the years has instructed thousands of women from New York to Mumbai. In 2002 Anna moved to Lambeth in south London and has been primarily based there ever since. As the lead teacher and programme coordinator for The Small World Centre she organizes classes, workshops and private tuition throughout the London area. She is dedicated to promoting the art of bellydance with integrity and is Production Manager for regular showcases and community events.

Anna teaches introduction, improver, intermediate and advanced level classes and workshops in Clapham, Brixton and Waterloo. Her classes focus on technique and posture and are based on stretching, movement repetitions and short combinations while workshops are a focused study on a full piece of choreography or on a specific technique, such as finger cymbals, veil or assaya. At the moment she is drawing influence from a recent trip to the Middle East and the incomparable Suhaila Salimpour technique.

Lessons include historical references and cultural anecdotes to help broaden students' education in Arabic dance.
